Amanda Crider
Amanda Crider is the Executive Director of Roomful of Teeth. She takes great joy in fostering meaningful relationships with our wonderful patrons and donors, working closely with the board of directors, and managing the operations of this dynamic organization. Prior to joining the Roomful of Teeth team in 2023, Amanda founded IlluminArts, an innovative vocal chamber music series in Miami, FL, and served as the Artistic Director for 10 years. With a focus on multidisciplinary programming including music, visual art, dance and film, she presented site-specific curated programs of music at museums and galleries throughout Miami. During her tenure with IlluminArts, featured artists included GRAMMY winners Attacca Quartet, Roomful of Teeth, Karim Sulayman, Kenneth Overton and Pulitzer Prize winning composer Caroline Shaw. Crider was named a 2022 Recipient of the Alumni Enterprise Award from the Innovation Institute at Music Academy of the West for her work with IlluminArts. Amanda has also been on the development staff of Seraphic Fire and Civic Chorale of Greater Miami, and has served as faculty at Aspen Music Festival and School.
In addition to her work with Roomful of Teeth, as a mezzo-soprano Amanda Crider has sung with numerous opera companies across the US including LA Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Dallas Opera, New York City Opera, Florida Grand Opera, The Castleton Festival, Glimmerglass Opera, Opera Boston, Opera Omaha, Des Moines Metro Opera, among others. She has also appeared as a soloist with ensembles including Calgary Philharmonic, New World Symphony, Apollo’s Fire, Seraphic Fire, Bach Festival Society of Florida, and the International Contemporary Ensemble. Ms. Crider has been a prize winner and finalist in many competitions, including the José Iturbi International Voice Competition, Jensen Foundation Voice Competition, Joy in Singing Debut Artist Competition, Palm Beach Opera Vocal Competition, Oratorio Society of New York Vocal Competition, Center for Contemporary Opera Competition, and is a recipient of a Richard F. Gold Career Grant from the Shoshana Foundation.
